Dear Annoying Friend

I cried when I fell on the floor,
you were there to tease me more.

Teacher asked me to leave the class,
you jumped in to follow the suit.

All the times, I managed to score a deal,
you made me pay for the meals.

You would laugh over my goofiness,
you would enrage the bashful me over some rush.

You would hit me back in a tussle,
I was caught up with you in all hustles.

With all momentous turns in my life,
you were there in glories and in strife.

My dear trouble for life, being customed to lean on you,
I must be so naive.

I can still walk over the edge, knowing well,
you will catch my hand before it touches the ridge.

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art… It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.
